Goldsmith City Pforzheim on Saturday, April 9

Dear Members and Guests,

We invite you to come on out with us on Saturday, April 9, 2022, as we will visit two unique museums in Pforzheim: The Jewelry Museum (Schmuckmuseum) and the Technical Museum of Pforzheim’s jewelry and watchmaking industries.

Pforzheim’s traditional jewelry and watchmaking industries once dominated the global market and played a highly significant role as a work environment and as a driving force for the city’s development.
The internationally renowned Jewelry Museum, unique in it’s kind, is devoted exclusively to jewelry and its history. Some 2,000 exhibits bear witness to the rich diversity of jewelry created over the course of five millennia.

The Technical Museum is a place for stimulating encounters with Pforzheim’s jewelry and watchmaking industries: Retired artisans from the jewelry and watchmaking industries display their goldsmithing or steel-engraving, engine-turning or chain-making skills at workplaces equipped with historical machines.
