Waldenbuch Old Town Tour on Saturday, May 23
Dear Members and Guests,
We would like to invite you to join us on Saturday, May 23 for a tour of the historic center of the small town of Waldenbuch. We will meet at 15:30 on the marketplace at the fountain (for further details see >>).
Waldenbuch: Idyllically situated between hills at the Schönbuch Nature Park, Waldenbuch exudes a very special charm with its half-timbered houses, fountains and staggered streets in the historic old town. Both the town church of St. Veit with its 36-metre-high church tower and the beautiful castle inspire all visitors.
At 16:00 the guided tours – one in English/one in German – will start at the marketplace. The tours will take us through the well-kept old centre of Waldenbuch. Come and join us and learn more about the mysterious stories from way back in time.
At the end of the tour, at approximately 17:30 we will gather up and have dinner at the Restaurant “Friedrich”, enjoying our meals à la carte. The restaurant is located in a historic building which used to be Waldenbuch’s old postal office. The restaurant is named “Friedrich” after the great German poet Friedrich Schiller who once made a stop there.
We kindly ask you to pay 5 € per person (members) or 10 € per person (non-members) on the day of the event at the meeting point. Just be prepared – there will be some walking on cobblestones and climbing of stairs. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes.

Directions:
By Car: Leaving Stuttgart heading South take A81 or B27. A81: take exit “Sindelfingen Ost” (road construction!) and follow the signs to Böblingen and Waldenbuch – or – B27: take exit “Filderstadt” and follow the signs to Waldenbuch. We recommend the parking lots marked in the map below.
Navi: punch in Parkplatz Auch-Areal – or – Parkplatz beim dm-drogerie markt / Bäckerei Sehne. There might be additional parking lots in “Auf dem Graben”.
By Public Transportation: from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof take the S-Bahn S2 towards Filderstadt. Get off at Station “Echterdingen”, walk over to the bus station (Busbahnhof) and take Bus 828 towards Tübingen Hauptbahnhof and get off at the stop “Waldenbuch Postamt” (Stuttgarter Str.), from there it is a 10min walk to the meeting point.
