February 2021

The current Covid 19 lockdown has been extended to at least the 7th of March, 2021. As a result, we have been forced to postpone our scheduled programs for January through March. The classical concert in the Liederhalle has been rescheduled from January to Saturday, June 19th. On that date the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, supported by a guest pianist and choir, will play a concert composed of works by Liszt and Schubert. Our planned February visit to the Staatsgalerie to see the French Impressionist exhibit has been rescheduled for Saturday, 8 May. Finally, our Annual General Membership Meeting in the Alte Kanzlei restaurant in Stuttgart has been moved from March to Saturday, 24 April, 2021. Additionally, we have decided to remove the Black Forest bus trip in September from our program. We thought this might be a little too ambitious for us to pull off this summer. We are looking at some options for interesting programs in the Stuttgart area for September, and we hope to do the Black Forest trip next year.

Here is our current revised schedule for 2021:

We hope we can carry out this program without too much revision, but we will remain flexible. When we do finally get started, we promise to do our best to provide you with great activities full of opportunities for fun and fellowship with friends new and old.

We once again thank those of you who have already paid your club dues for 2021. We realize that paying dues at this point is a vote of confidence in our ability to provide quality future programs as soon as we are able, and we really appreciate it. We promise that all dues received will be put back into upcoming programs to reduce costs for members as much as possible. We look forward to seeing you all once again in the near future. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy. We think the little flicker of light at the end of this tunnel is starting to grow, and we will be ready when the time comes. Hope you join us for the ride!
