Hohenheim Castle and Garden tour on Saturday, 21 October 2017

Dear Members and Guests,

Please come and join us for an outing to the impressive Schloss Hohenheim located in the south of Stuttgart bordered by the city districts of Plieningen and Birkach.

The former summer residence of Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg is in the midst of expansive parks, the Hohenheim Gardens. In its current form, the Hohenheim Palace was built on the model of Versailles. Today, it houses parts of the University of Hohenheim.
On Saturday, October 21, 2017 we will meet at 14:30 at the entrance to the Schloss Hohenheim under the balcony (see picture above). There will be two tours, one in English and one in German, both starting at 15:00 taking us to selected rooms of the palace and continuing through the Hohenheim gardens.

After the tour we will have dinner at 17:30 at the Plieninger Most- und Weinbesen. We are very delighted to take you to an authentic "Besenwirtschaft" operated by a local winegrower. The Unger Family will set up tables and chairs in their living room and serve their own wine and home-cooked food. Look out for the broom (Besen) next to the entrance !

The cost for the Hohenheim Castle incl. tours is € 0 for members and € 5 for non-members. Dinner incl. drinks has to be paid individually.

The number of participants will be limited, so don't wait to register - participation is on a first-come-first-served base.

Best regards,
