Christmas Dinner Party on Saturday, 3 December 2011

Dear members and friends,

We will conclude our program for 2011 and celebrate the Christmas season with our traditional social highlight, the

Christmas Dinner Party
on
Saturday, December 3, 2011, 17.30 hours
in the
Restaurant Alte Kantlei
Schillerplatz 5A, 70173 Stuttgart

© www.stuttgart-tourist.deThe Alte Kanzlei is on the west side of the Schlossplatz just across from the Altes Schloss (Old Castle). Look for the building with the Golden Mercury statue on top.
We will meet at 17:30 for a reception featuring Christmas Punch (with and without alcohol), inside the Restaurant.
Follow the GAC signs and go up the stairs to our private dining rooms, Merlot I and II. At 18:15 everyone should be settled at their tables so that we can enjoy some wonderful musical entertainment featuring two great musicians in a violin/cello duo, Katharina Mockwa and Sebastian Braun.
At 19:00 we will begin our delicious four course holiday dinner, which will consist of a winter green salad, cream of carrot soup with fresh ginger, roast duck with all the trimmings, and a baked apple dessert with vanilla sauce. A vegetarian main course is also available with the menu. If you prefer this option, please let us know when you make your dinner reservation.

Between dinner courses we will be treated to Christmas stories, more music, and maybe a surprise or two. After dessert we will cap off the evening with a rousing Christmas sing-a-long, with musical accompaniment. Be ready to join in and send everyone off in a festive holiday mood!

Following our tradition we would greatly appreciate it if some of the ladies (and gentlemen!) bring homemade Christmas cookies to share with others and to serve as table decorations.
The price for the dinner is € 32. Drinks with the meal are extra. The club will pay for the Christmas Punch reception and entertainment, and also contribute to the cost of dinner to keep the price as listed above. Pleasant conversation, as always, is free, but you must bring lots of Christmas cheer to make the evening a success.

If you would like to experience more of the Christmas season on the day of our party, stroll through the famous Stuttgart Christmas Market beforehand.
Another treat is a free Christmas musical concert in the beautifully decorated courtyard of the Old Castle (state museum) at 17.00 on Dec. 3. You could listen to the music for 30 minutes, and then stroll right across to the Alte Kanzlei just in time for our reception. Hope to see you all there!

Merry Christmas
