Kaspar Glassworks Factory in Neckarzimmern
on Saturday, April 17, 2010

Dear members and friends,

Please join us on Saturday, April 17th, for a wonderful excursion by train up to the Kaspar Glassworks Factory and showroom in Neckarzimmern:

Kaspar Glassworks Factory

In 1948, Herr Kaspar left the Silesian area of Poland and brought the family glassworks business to Germany. With his brother, he founded the "Franz Kaspar Kristallglaswerk". His brother is the master glass blower, Franz fashions cut glass, and Franz's wife paints many of the objects with original designs. There are wine glasses, shot glasses, ornaments, garden bulbs, novelty vases, and many other fabulous handmade glass and crystal works of art. And sad to say, the next generation will not be taking over, so when they close their doors in a year or two, it will be for the last time. So please join us in appreciating this unique establishment before it is gone. We will take the direct train up to Neckarzimmern; Kaspar's is right across the street from the train station. For those who wish to drive, please see the directions on reverse side.
Please let us know with your reservation whether you are driving or joining us on the train.

After the tour, the restaurant "Da Franco" will be open from 17.00 for dinner; it is situated just down the street from Kaspar's at Hauptstraße 1, Tel: 06261-91-6066. Guests may wander over there whenever they have finished shopping and order off the Menu; each guest pays for their own meal. They may then leave to take the train back whenever they are ready. Everybody just needs to remember to hook up with whoever has the Wochenende ticket.

72. Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest

www.stuttgarter-fruehlingsfest.de www.stuttgarter-fruehlingsfest.de

The "Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest" is regarded to be the biggest spring fest in Europe. It was started 72 years ago to give fairground attraction owners and workers a good start into the season. It takes place at the same location as the Beer Festival in autumn and offers great entertainment and fun.

Our Club reserved tables number 161 and 162 in "Grandl's Hofbräu Tent".

We will meet at 15:30 at the information booth, which in autumn bears the prominent fruit column, but in spring bears a huge pitcher (Kanne), part of the original Bad Cannstatt coat of arms.

Your event manager Christel Baumann will hand out your vouchers for beverages and food. There is a mandatory consumption on the weekends of 2 beverages (1 liter of beer per voucher or any other beverage) and 1 meal per person (half chicken or any other food). Which totals to 24 Euro including a wrist band that allows you in and out of the tent. Please have the amount of 24 Euros per person ready. Please also note that there is a mandatory minimum tip for the waiters: 60 cents per beverage/food order.

We have to be in the tent at our tables by 16:00, else we will lose our reserved seats. The Tent is sold out on May 1. So please be on time - information point 15:30.

How to get there: it is highly recommended to use public transportation. Most convenient: take the U11 from Hauptbahnhof until the terminal stop "Cannstatter Wasen".

We have 20 seats to sell, first come first serve, members have priority. No-shows will have to pay full price.
Please register until April 26 at the latest with
